Reading the reviews, three things come up almost every time. The view: the hills as a backdrop to every moment of the day, from breakfast on the terrace to dinner in the loggia. The outdoor spaces: the barbecue and the wood-fired oven, which are rare around here, and the pool at sunset. The silence: the house is on top of a private hill, and in the evening you hear the crickets.

My multigenerational family stayed at Villa Gioma in early April. This villa was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: absolutely breathtaking 240-degree views from a very private setting on top of a hill overlooking Lucca and small villages. We watched beautiful sunrises and sunsets, were greeted all day by birdsong, and the bells of the nearby villages told us the time of day. The house is exactly as it appears in the photos, and the layout, with a private bathroom for every bedroom, was perfect for our family. Even though the pool was unheated and it was early April, my grandchildren spent time in it every single day. Our host was truly special, ready to answer any question within moments.

This place is absolutely spectacular! The view is magnificent, the house is beautiful, and I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our family vacation. Our host was fantastic, and the chefs were incredible: the meals were definitely a highlight. The house sits up in the hills in a quiet, secluded spot, and you can see all the way to the sea. The pool is so refreshing and there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy a meal. We even discovered lots of hiking trails in the woods around the property. Highly recommend Villa Gioma!

The villa was a dream come true, and the views were magical. I had the good fortune to celebrate an intimate wedding here, and everyone was amazed by the location. The villa is welcoming, clean and ideal for families and friends, since every guest has their own private bathroom. Our host was incredibly helpful and responsive. We had a car to get around Tuscany, because you cannot walk anywhere from the villa, but the seclusion is exactly what makes it so enchanting. Thank you for letting us celebrate the most beautiful wedding I could ever have dreamed of.

We have used Airbnb for years, and this was the most responsive and welcoming host we have ever come across. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic experience. The property was perfect for our family of 11, including four children under eight. Even the challenging driveway did not take away from our overall satisfaction with the location and the house.

Do not scroll past this spectacular villa. The fully renovated house was simply perfect for our family of eight adults. The beds are very comfortable, the showers have incredible water pressure, and the infinity pool was perfect for unwinding at the end of the day after our sightseeing adventures. The villa is tucked away in the hills, looking out over vineyards, olive groves, several towns and the sea. Our host was a quick message away whenever we needed anything. He suggested an extraordinary chef, who cooked three authentic Italian dinners and also gave us cooking lessons and tips. Villa Gioma exceeded every expectation. Thank you for the best family vacation ever!

The house was wonderful, even better than the photos! I celebrated my 50th birthday here with friends, and everyone was extremely comfortable in their own room with a private bathroom. We hired the chef for two nights and he was fantastic. Very helpful hosts. Highly recommend!

The villa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Breathtaking views, incredible sunrises, with every modern comfort you could need. We were there with the whole family and everyone simply loved it. The first drive up to the villa is a bit of an adventure, but once you have done it, it is easy to repeat. I would definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic stay! The view from the villa is spectacular, and the villa itself was immaculate, intimate and peaceful. It is rare for a house to exceed expectations, but this one did. We knew we were getting a beautifully updated villa, but we had no idea we would practically have a mountain to ourselves. Everything is updated and thought through; I cannot even imagine how amazing this place is in summer. The host and his team were fantastic: they met us in town to lead us up to the villa when we arrived and spent a good amount of time showing us everything inside and out. They also arranged a private chef for our last evening and a mini cooking class for the kids. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We rented the villa for a bachelorette weekend, eight of us! Not only was the villa wonderful, superbly equipped and spotless, but the owner helped us book a few places and arrange extra services such as transfers, housekeeping, a massage therapist and a chef. The view from the house is simply unreal. I highly recommend it!

An absolutely delightful stay at this recently renovated villa near Lucca. The house is off the beaten track and offers the most spectacular views wherever you look: Lucca and Pisa in one direction, the Ligurian Sea and Corsica in the other. With a full panoramic view over the whole area and surrounded by woodland, it is the perfect villa for exploring Tuscany and its cities. The place has been renovated with a keen eye for every little detail and with respect for the original villa. The highest recommendation from me and my family.

A modern farmhouse set in the splendid landscape of the Lucca countryside. A fantastic pool and interiors that are beautifully kept, with a modern design. Fine quality in the construction and in the furnishings. The exterior photos do not do justice to the beauty of the spaces.
